Collins Dictionary has named “vibe coding” as its Word of the Year for 2025, beating out “clanker” and other finalists.

Gordon McKernan partners with LSU computer science professor David Shepherd for a workshop introducing high school students to Code Beats, a program challenging them to remix McKernan's iconic jingle.

"Vibe coding," a term describing how AI translates natural language into computer code, has been named Collins Dictionary's Word of the Year.
